Support
Setup, compatibility, and troubleshooting for Nawmi.
Quick start
Nawmi works as a regular alarm app on its own.
Its sunrise and sunset light automation features require:
- Smart lights already added to Home
- A Home Hub
Supported Home Hubs include:
- HomePod
- HomePod mini
- Apple TV 4K
If your lights use Matter over Thread, you will need a Thread-enabled hub such as:
- HomePod mini
- HomePod (2nd generation)
- Apple TV 4K (2nd generation)
- Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) Wi-Fi + Ethernet
Simple compatibility check
If your lights already appear in Home and you can create automations there, your setup is likely compatible.
For the best sunrise and sunset effect, your lights should support dimming. Color temperature or full color control can improve the result further.
Why so many automation items?
To create a slow, smooth change in light, Nawmi may create multiple automation objects or scenes in your Home setup. This is expected.
If you disable the related Wake Up automation, Nawmi can remove the automation items it created. If you enable it again later, it can create them again.
Troubleshooting
Sunrise or sunset automation will not save
Check that:
- your lights are visible in Home
- a supported Home Hub is available
- the selected lights support dimming
- the app stays open while the automation is being written
I do not see my lights
Make sure Nawmi has access to Apple Home and that your lights already appear in Home.
Recording custom alarm sounds does not work
Make sure microphone access is enabled for Nawmi.
